Both a larrikin and a very fine player, Greg Matthews wore this Australian ODI uniform whilst playing in the World Series Cup tournament against the West Indies and Pakistan during the summer of 1983/1984.

The Australian team included players such as Border, Jones and Wessels, whilst the WIndies had Viv Richards, Haynes, Lloyd, Marshall and Holding.

The piece was originally gifted to Tony Jaggs, a Sydney businessman who managed many Australian tours of prominent cricketers such as Sir Viv Richards, Sir Ian Botham, and Sir Richard Hadlee and is inscribed "Tony, Take it easy, Yeah Yeah! Greg Matthews, 83/84, Love you Brother!" on the shirt and "To Jaggsey, Take It Easy, Yeah Yeah, Greg Matthews" on the trousers.

A classic Australian uniform from the glory years of One Day Cricket.  As was typical of the era, the shirt is cotton and yellow and green whilst the pants are made of a differing material and in gold (since cricket pants have never been produced in cotton).

It measures a huge 165cm x 70cm and is in excellent condition for its age.

It is framed in glass which will be fragile if shipping is required so pick-up from our office is preferred.  We will thus take all care but accept no liability if this item is to be shipped.  Reframing in Perspex is desirable, although reframing such a large piece may cost $700 to $900 approx.

Certainly unique memorabilia!
