A rare numbered Baggy Green cap worn by Ray Lindwall during the 1953 Coronation Ashes Tour of England.
Also included are personally signed teamsheets for "The 1948 Invincibles" as well as the 1953 Ashes side, both including the great Ray Lindwall.
A list of the greatest Australian Test team of all time still often includes Ray Lindwall (partnered with Dennis Lillee), a fantastic sportsman who also played two rugby league grand finals for St George before he served in World War II.
In 2000, Ray Lindwall was named as a player in Australia's Team of the Century. 228 wickets in 61 Tests, a hard hitting batsman, and a fine man. Combining with the great Keith Miller, Lindwall led the Australian attack for "The Invincibles", regarded as history's greatest Test side, and gained most wickets for the Australians in both the 1948 and 1953 series.
The cap was gifted to his English cousin at the end of the tour. We have a picture of Ray Lindwall with his cousin at the time that the cap was presented.
