An incredible piece of rock/pop music history.
In the late northern summer of 1965, Beatlemania was at its peak... and so the 4 lads from Liverpool ushered in the era of the stadium concert.
This remarkable piece of memorabilia is personally signed by Paul McCartney (and dedicated by him "To Donna" with "love" (the To Donna can be removed for framing purposes) as well as Sid Bernstein, the promoter of the tour.
Bernstein changed the American music scene in the 1960s by bringing the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Herman's Hermits, the Moody Blues, and the Kinks to America. He was the first impresario to organize rock concerts at sports stadiums.
On this piece, Sid Bernstein has written "I brought John, Paul, George and Ringo to play at Shea Stadium, 8/15/65".
In addition, the piece is also personally signed by Allan Williams, the first manager of the Beatles. He drove the van to take the young band to Hamburg, West Germany, in 1960, where they gained the vital show business experience that led to their emergence on the world stage. Williams was also a promoter and agent of a number of other Liverpool rock acts, helping stoke the Merseybeat boom of the early 1960s.
The Beatles' concert at Shea Stadium on August 15, 1965, was a landmark event in music history, attended by approximately 55,600 fans and marking the beginning of the stadium concert era.
