This September 30, 1996 copy of Sports Illustrated has been personally signed by long-time rivals Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier, two of the greatest heavyweight boxers in history.

Ali v Frazier I was known as "The Fight of the Century" and took place at Madison Square Gardens on 8 March 1971 and was won by Joe Frazier in a unanimous decision.

28 January 1974 saw Ali v Frazier II, again in New York, with Ali winning a close but unanimous decision.

Their most famous bout, "The Thrilla in Manila", occurred in October 1975.  The bout is almost universally regarded as one of the best and most brutal fights in boxing history, and was the culmination of the three-bout rivalry between the two fighters.  Ali won when the fight was stopped in the 14th round.  Some sources estimate the fight was watched by 1 billion viewers.
